His Progress

It's only recently that I'm become actually overweight. For most of my life, I would've been considered just under normal weight. Moving from my parents house to my own place seemed to be the catalyst for my bad food habits. Litres of chocolate milk would be consumed in under a week. Candy never made me put weight on before, why would it now? Within a years time I found myself 50 pounds heavier, sluggish and unhappy with the size of my belly.

What am I doing different?

I've been gradually winding down the amount of junk food I eat. I drink 1 or 2 pops a week, instead of 1 or 2 a day. Lightly flavored water has taken it's place. I used to drink hot chocolate, I have since switched to tea (can't seem to digest coffee!). Between those two, it's a calorie difference of around 500 per day. Alot can be done without trying very hard.

The hard part

As mentioned above, I was hooked on chocolate milk, drinking it basically whenever I felt like it. I've managed to cut down to 500 ml. It sounds silly, but it's tough to break habits! Exercise is the other half of the tough coin. I've started going to the gym doing a mix of cardio, strength training, and squash.
